Most of the bull selections that we have used in putting together the nucleus of our herd have been blends between maternal-based and performance-based cattle. Foundation sires, for example, include bulls such as Victor 735 crossed with strong doses of X51, R117, and the legendary 909B. As our herd has grown, other sires such as 4013, 33Z and Mandate have been used heavily. In 2022, we also added the genetics of Character 178J, from the Ned and Jan Ward herd in MT. This highest selling bull for 2022 brings to the table performance, growth, and carcass quality along with strong maternal traits and uniformity as he is double bred to Rita 79Z.
